Jose Ferrer is elected "Legend of Aragon".

For the first time, Tim Atkin MW has visited and analysed the wine regions of Aragón to get to know the essence of its wines and wineries. The result of this oenological journey has been captured in the first installment of the "Aragón Special Report" where, in addition, he highlights and recognises the role of key figures in the world of wine in this region. Jose Ferrer, winemaker and manager of Viñas del Vero, has been awarded the title of "Winemaker Legend Aragón 2024".With this distinction, the British Master of Wine has rewarded the "legendary" professional career of the winemaker and manager of Viñas del Vero, a winery that Jose Ferrer joined in 1993. Throughout these more than 30 years, Ferrer has carried out different roles that have allowed him to acquire the necessary experience and the ideal sensitivity to provide the personality that defines the D.O. Somontano wines of Viñas del Vero, Secastilla and Blecua.A work based on the creation of honest wines with the capacity to excite that have been distinguished with important successes. Among the most recent are the scores that Tim Atkin has awarded to Blecua 2015, Clarión de Viñas del Vero 2020 and Secastilla 2019, rated with 95, 94 and 93 points, respectively. Also noteworthy are those achieved at Mundus Vini, where Blecua 2017 has become the Best Somontano Wine and Gran Vos de Viñas del Vero 2017 has been recognised with a Gold Medal for the Best Somontano Wine.
