Clarión 2020 from Viñas del Vero has once again received international recognition from Wine Searcher.

The CINVE international competition has awarded Clarión de Viñas del Vero 2020 with the Gold Medal. This wine from D.O. Somontano de Viñas del Vero has been placed among the best in the "still wines" category of this competition, whose jury is made up of specialized journalists, oenologists, sommeliers and technicians.

Viñas del Vero has hosted the demonstration day of the "Adopt Project", where met-hods to reduce the use of phytosanitary products and other innovative R+D+i projects have been presented to representatives of the sector in the Somontano Protected De-signation of Origin, as well as to students from the University of Zaragoza, the Univer-sitat Politècnica de Catalunya Barcelona Tech, the University of Cordoba and the Universitat Politècnica de València. These students have had the opportunity to attend different presentations, with the participation of José Ferrer, manager of Viñas del Vero, and José María Ayuso, manager of vineyards and projects at González Byass.

The Viñas del Vero vineyard will be the setting for this research, which promotes the recovery of coffee grounds generated in vending machines, present in places as popular as educational centres, hospitals and offices. In addition to this advance, the development of "Fertcafé" will contribute to the improvement of the quality and care of soil biodiversity, the profitability and sustainability of farms, as well as the reduction of the carbon footprint achieved by the reuse of this waste.

A truly a river of emotions!

Jose Ferrer, winemaker and manager of Viñas del Vero, has been recognised with the title of "Winemaker Legend" in the "Aragón 2024 Special Report" by Tim Atkin MW.

The Spanish Wine Federation (FEV) has awarded Viñas del Vero the "Wineries for Climate Protection" (WfCP) certificate, which promotes continuous improvement in wineries.

Although Viñas del Vero Chardonnay is made from one of the most "noble" varieties, it is not a wine designed for cellaring. But by rescuing old vintages from our bottle rack, we have realized that it can stay in good shape for more than 10 years!

Zaragoza witnessed an extraordinary event that combined love for wine and music in a spectacular setting. "Casa Vero", which took place on October 6th and 7th, became the meeting point for lovers of good wine and music fans on the eve of the Fiestas del Pilar.

Viñas del Vero has adopted the Food Industry Sustainability Precepts. An initiative launched by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food to distinguish those companies that comply with a series of commitments to sustainability that affect their activity in a broad sense.
