VIÑAS DEL VERO, THE SETTING FOR THE MEETING WITH R+D+I IN THE "ADOPT PROJECT"

Viñas del Vero has hosted the demonstration day of the "Adopt Project", where methods to reduce the use of phytosanitary products and other innovative R+D+i projects have been presented to representatives of the sector in the Somontano Protected Designation of Origin, as well as to students from the University of Zaragoza, the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya Barcelona Tech,  the University of Cordoba and the Universitat Politècnica de València. These students have had the opportunity to attend different presentations, with the participation of José Ferrer, manager of Viñas del Vero, and José María Ayuso, manager of vineyards and projects at González Byass.In their speeches, Ferrer and Ayuso have shown the details and progress of some of the R+D+i projects that are currently being carried out in this winery. Among the most prominent are Fuelphoria (which studies technologies for capturing and using CO2 in wineries, including methanation), Harvrest (which analyzes the art and possibilities of introducing electric and autonomous vehicles, as well as agrivoltaic technology in vineyards) and Fertcafe (as an example of circularity by studying the impact of the use of coffee waste on the soil of vineyards).The visit concluded with a tasting of a selection of wines from Viñas del Vero, including Viñas del Vero Sauvignon Blanc and Viñas del Vero Violeta.
